Nov. 03 - Milford Wins Frisby Bowl in a Shut-Out
Team Lockwood ended the season the way it began with a shut out
victory 32 -0 over Madeira.
The Milford Eagles scored early and often and was able to find the
end zone either as part of a long sustained drive or as result of a
quick hitting big run down the sideline. The Eagle Defense was
as stout as ever and had
little trouble keeping Madeira out of the end zone. The Eagles finished the season
with 13 wins and only one loss. Six of those wins were by shut
out.
Coach Lockwood awarded two game balls. One to offensive
line led by Jacob Schwartz and the other game ball went to Trey Pond
for his great defensive line play all game and all season.
Oct. 27 - Milford #12 defeats Loveland #2
Division 1 Champions, Milford #12, defeated Division 4 Champions,
Loveland #2, by a score of 26 to 13 at Loveland High School.
This game featured both teams offenses. The Milford Eagles
started the offensive fireworks on the third play from scrimmage
with 60 yard touchdown run. Loveland answered right back with
a 10 play drive to even the score at 6 all. Milford only
needed two plays to take the lead back on a 61 yard run.
Loveland then showed its big play ability by taking the lead on 67
yard run plus an extra point conversion: 13 - 12. After
stalling on their next drive, the Eagle defense got the ball back on
a Loveland turnover deep in Loveland territory. The Eagles
were able to convert that turnover into 6 points to take the lead
back right before halftime 18 - 12.
The second half began with Milford recovering a Loveland fumble
on the Loveland 42 yard line. Milford drove down to the 1/2
yard line, but Loveland held and got the ball back on downs.
With Loveland not able to mount a drive they punted the ball back to
Milford, but still in Loveland territory. It took Milford only three
plays this time to score their final touchdown and kick an extra
point conversion. After each offense swapped four and out
series, Loveland engineered one more drive, but was intercepted on
Milford's 7 yard line to seal the deal. The final score was
Milford 26 and Loveland 13.
Coach Lockwood awarded two games balls. One to the entire
offensive line and the other to Sam Dobrowolski
for bringing it on every play.
Oct 21 - Lakota #2 Defeats Milford #12: 14 - 6
Team Lockwood's 19 game winning streak came to end Sunday against
undefeated Lakota #2, as the Eagles lost a hard fought game to
Lakota #2.
The game began with each offense trading a four and out
series. Lakota seized the opportunity of a Milford turnover and
eight plays later took a 7-0 lead. After an Eagle three and out
series, The Eagle defense stopped Lakota on our own 7 yard line.
After another three and our series, time expired in the first half
with Lakota knocking on the door.
The second half began with each team trading three and out
series. Then Lakota put together a 12 play 49 yard scoring drive to
take a 14 to nothing lead. After trading fumbles, the Eagles
found themselves backed up on their own two yard line. With
nothing to lose but pride, the Eagles held Lakota for 4
straight downs and prevented Lakota from taking a three touchdown lead
and got the ball back on downs. On the very next play, Jake Davis took a hand off
in the Eagle's own end zone and ran the entire length of the field to score
the Eagles lone touchdown. Time expired on the next series with the
final score of 14 - 6.
Up next for Milford is third grade division 4 champions, Loveland
#2. Date, time, and place is still TBD.
Oct 13 - Milford Advances to the Semi-Finals.
The Milford Eagles advanced to the next round of the playoffs by
defeating Sharonville 16 - 6 at Little Miami.
The Milford
Eagles started off fast by scoring from 43 yards out on their third
play from scrimmage. The Milford Eagles got the ball back
again after a 3 and out series by Sharonville and put together a 14
play drive with 5 first downs resulting in another Milford
touchdown. Both touchdowns were capped off by successful kick
conversions which gave Milford a 16 to nothing lead. With just
seconds before half-time, Sharonville connected on a 61 yard pass
completion to get on the score board (if there had been one) with 6
points.
The second half started out with both teams exchanging 4 and out
series. Then Milford engineered another long 12 play drive which ate
up much of the second half clock. The Milford defense then stopped
Sharonville on downs and limited Sharonville to only 10 yards total
offense for the second half. Milford finished the game
knocking on the door, when they drove down to the Sharonville 12
yard line when time expired. The final score was Milford - 16,
Sharonville - 6.
Coach Lockwood awarded two game balls: One to Michael Watkins for
his key tackles and the other to Cameron Swanger for his great
running.
Next up for Team Lockwood is the Semi-final game against Lakota
#2. The play off game will be at Indian Hill High School on
Sunday October 21st at 1:45 pm.
October 6 - Team Lockwood Wins Division Championship
Milford #12 defeated Little Miami by a score of 18 to 0 to remain
unbeaten for the season and became Division Champs.
Milford overcame some early turnovers with a stifling defense led by
defensive MVP, Cameron Swanger, and big play runs to earn their 10th
victory of the season (5th by shut-out), 6th victory in CYFL play,
an 4th victory in division play.
The first half started off well with Milford Eagles recovering a
Panther fumble on the very first play of the game. Milford returned
the favor two plays later by throwing an interception. The Little
Miami offense advanced the ball on a 48 yard run, but later turned
the ball over on downs. After each offense swapped 3 and out series,
Milford got the ball back and got on the board first with a 64 yard
touchdown run. After the Eagle defense stopped the panthers
two more times in 4 and out series, the quick hitting Eagle offense
scored another touchdown on a a 62 yard touchdown run. This gave the
Eagles a 12 to nothing half time lead.
In the second half, the Eagle offense overcame a couple more
turnovers and engineered a 10 play 55 yard drive resulting in an
Eagle touchdown. The Eagle Defense was as stout as ever and
only allowed 4 net yards and zero first downs for the half.
Coach Lockwood awarded two game balls: One to Quentin Shoemaker
for his tackles in the backfield and one game ball to Cade Ferguson
for his offensive line play.
Next up for the Eagles will be the first play off game against Sharonville, at Little Miami, on Saturday at 1:45pm.
Sept 29 - Eagles Shut out Lakota #5 in Defensive Struggle: 6 - 0
The Milford Eagles remain undefeated for the season and sit alone
at the top of their division after winning at Lakota against
Lakota
#5.
The game featured to very good and determined teams that
were tied at 0 until late in the fourth quarter when the Eagles
found a way into the end zone after an 8 play 50 yard drive.
In the first half, Lakota was able to keep big play Eagle offense
in check. Despite two Tomahawk turnovers Lakota threatened to score
with 10+ play drive, but the Eagle defense rose to the occasion and
got the ball back on downs right before halftime.
In the second half, the Eagles really stepped things up. The
defense only gave up 24 yards and no first downs. The Eagle offense,
realizing their undefeated record was on the line engineered a long
drive that was capped off with a 17 yard run into the end zone.
Lakota had one more opportunity, but the Eagle defense shut the door
with a four and out series.
Coach Lockwood awarded two game balls. One to the entire Eagle
defense led by Jake Davis and Kalen Fearing and the other game ball
to Wes Reid for his great running and game winning touch down.
Sept 22 - Milford Wins in Dust Bowl, Beats Anderson 24 - 6
Team Lockwood got its first chance to play at home at a very hot
and dusty Miami Meadows Park.
The Eagles defeated Anderson for
a second time this season by an identical score of 24 to 6. The
Eagles took a first half lead of 12 to nothing based on a long 60
yard run and also on a 12 yard pass completion to cap off a 34 yard
drive. The Eagle defense held Anderson to negative yards in
the first half and forced a key turn over in Anderson territory.
In the second half, after the Eagle Defense stopped Anderson from
converting on fourth down, the offense then scored on the very next
play to extend the lead to 18 points. Anderson then mounted a
very impressive 14 play drive that included 4 pass completions to
score their only touchdown of the game. It only took the
Eagles two plays to re-establish the 18 point lead with a 51 yard
touchdown run. The Eagle defense then stopped Anderson with a
four and out series. The Eagles were threatening to score
again when time expired.
Coach Lockwood awarded the game ball to Jeremy Dentino who
learned our entire playbook in two days and scored a touchdown while
running the ball hard and fast all day long.
Next up for Team Lockwood is
Lakota #5 in a key divisional game.
Sept 15 Milford Comes from Behind to Win at Sharonville!
The Milford Eagles found themselves behind for the first
time all season, but played tough to come out on top over
Sharonville 20 - 13.
In the first series Sharonville jumped
out front with a long run for a touchdown and extra point
conversion to take the early lead, 7 - 0. After a
three and out series for Milford, the Eagle defense stopped
Sharonville to get the ball back. On the very first
play the Milford offense ripped one down the sidelines to
score a touchdown, but failed on the extra point conversion.
The defenses kept the offenses in check for the rest of the
half and found Milford trailing at halftime for the first
time all season 7 - 6.
An inspired Milford Eagles took the field for the second
half and the offense scored on its first possession to take
the lead back 12 - 6. The Eagle defense stopped
Sharonville with a 3 and out series. Again, the
Milford offense demonstrated its big play ability and scored
on a long run with a kicked extra point conversion to extend
the lead to 20 - 6. Sharonville then mounted a long
drive which found themselves on the Milford Eagle 8 yard
line. It took Sharonville 6 plays to score from there and
more importantly took several minutes off the clock.
After Milford turned the ball over on downs, the Milford
Eagle defense sealed the deal by stripping the ball out for
a Sharonville turnover. The final score was Milford 20
and Sharonville 13.
Coach Lockwood awarded two game balls: One to Jake Davis
for his outstanding play and key fumble recovery at the end
of the game. And the other game ball went to Kalen Fearing
for his outstanding play at nose tackle, being in the
backfield all day, and "single-handedly turning the game
around with his key tackles".
Next up for Milford Eagles is a game at home against
Anderson 2 Wildcats.
Sept. 8 - Eagles Shut out Mason: 22 - 0
The Milford Eagles remain undefeated with their shutout
victory of Mason4 in Mason.
In the first half the Eagles did all their damage. The
offense scored three times including two extra point kick
conversions. The Eagle Defense not only shut out Mason
for the entire game, but held the Comets to negative three
yards of offense in the first half.
Coach Lockwood awarded game balls to Cory Lockwood and
Jake Davis. Next up, for the Milford Eagles is the
Sharonville Eagles at Sharonville.
Sept. 2nd - Eagles Keep Rolling: Beat Anderson 24 - 6
The Milford Eagles remain undefeated and extended their
win streak to 13 with the defeat of the Anderson 2 Wildcats today.
Despite 90+ degree temperatures, the Eagles came ready to
play and got out to very fast start. The Eagle defense
forced two Wildcat fumbles that were quickly converted into
touchdowns by the Eagle offense. The Eagles scored
another touchdown before end of the half to jump to an 18 -
0 lead and held the Anderson Wildcats to only 12 yards of
total offense.
In the second half, the Eagles scored again on the
opening drive to take a 26 to nothing lead. After recovering
another Wildcat fumble, the Eagles marched down the field
again, but was not able to score this time. Seizing
the opportunity, the Wildcats un-corked a long run for a TD
on a fourth and five play. The Eagles then answered
with long drive nearly scoring before the game ended.
The final score was Milford Eagles - 24 and Anderson 2
Wildcats - 6.
Coach Lockwood awarded two game balls. The first
game ball went to Jake Davis for "Bringing it on every play"
and "Making it Rain". The second game ball went to
Cade Ferguson for excellent play at quarterback including 20
yard pass completion.
Next up for the Eagles are Mason 4 Comets at Mason on
Saturday September 8th at 1:45pm.
Sept. 1st - Eagles Shut Out Amelia 34 - 0 in Labor Day Bowl
The Milford Eagles defeated the Amelia 7/8 White Falcons
by a score of 34 to 0 to win the Labor Day Bowl.
The Eagles
jumped to a 14 point lead at the half by putting together a
very nice 10 play drive with great blocking from offensive
line and also scoring on a 60 yard run from scrimmage.
The Eagle defense only gave up 4 yards of total offense in
the first half.
In the second half, the Eagles proved to be even more
explosive and scored on two long touchdown runs. Not, to be
left out of the fun, the Eagle defense intercepted an Amelia
pass and returned it for a touchdown. This gave our final
score of 34 - 0. Our offense put up over 228 yards of
offense while our defense only gave up 12 yards of total
offense thus keeping Amelia to only 0.92 yards a rush.
Coach Lockwood awarded two game balls: One to Kyle
"Cowboy" Minton for his great running and touchdowns and the
other game ball to Hayden Horter for his interception and
touchdown return. Each of the Eagle players was awarded and
individual trophy for the team victory in the Amelia Labor
Day bowl.
Aug 25 - Eagles Beat Loveland Tigers 26 - 6
The Milford Eagles won a decisive victory over the
Loveland 1 Tigers by a score of 26 - 6.
In the first half the Eagles, jumped to a 14 to nothing lead
with a combination of big runs by the offense and a stifling
defense that only gave up 7 yards of offense.
In the second half, the Eagles really opened things up
and went to the air 8 times completing 4. The Eagle
offense scored twice more and elected to kick for the extra
point conversion attempts. The Loveland Tigers did get
on the board with a long touchdown run in the second half
thus giving the final score of 26 - 6.
Coach Geoff Lockwood awarded two game balls: One to Ryan
Saunders for key pass receptions; and the other to Cory
Lockwood for his pass completions, touchdown run and key
tackles.
Next up for the Eagles are two bowl games this Labor day
weekend. First up is Amelia at Amelia on Saturday Sept. 1st.
and Anderson on Sunday Sept 2nd.

Aug. 18 - Eagles Win Preview Against
Sharonville: 14 - 6
The Milford Eagles won their CYFL Preview game against
Sharonville by a score of 14 to 6.
This
low scoring affair featured both teams defenses. In
the first half the Milford Eagle defense held Sharonvile to
negative 21 yards of total offense. The Milford Eagles
drew first blood by capitalizing on a failed 4th down
conversion deep in Sharonville territory resulting in the
only touchdown for either team in the first half.
In the second half, the Milford Eagles offense came out
swinging and scored a touchdown in their second play from
scrimmage. Showing true resilience, the Sharonville
Screaming Eagles answered the Milford Eagles score and
marched down the field to score their only touchdown of the
game. For the remainder of the game, both defenses kept the
offenses in check. The final score was Milford 14, and
Sharonville 6.
Coach Geoff Lockwood awarded two game balls: One to Kyle
"Cowboy" Minton for his selfless team play and calling pass
play for an extra point conversion; and the Second Game ball
to Luke Dombroski for his outstanding
defensive play with numerous sacks and tackles for loss.

Aug. 11 - Eagles Dominate in Season Opener at Paul Brown Stadium
The Milford Eagles started the 2007 season with a very
impressive showing at Paul Brown Stadium. The Eagles
shutout the Bethel Tigers 28 to 0.
The
offense set the tone early by scoring on the first play from
scrimmage. The offense showed off its big play
capability by rolling up 262 yards of offense in only 13
plays. The Eagle defense also sent a message by not
allowing a single point scored and limited the Tigers to
only 47 total yards of offense and two first downs. Coach
Lockwood awarded the game ball to Bryson Hutzel for his
outstanding play at one of the hardest positions on the
field, center.
Next up for the Milford Eagles are the Sharonville Eagles
in the CYFL Preview game.

2006 2nd Grade #2
The Eagles had a tremendous second
season with 11 wins, 1 loss,
and 1 tie.
The Milford Eagles showed they can play in the rain by winning
over Sycamore 26 - 6 at Sharonville. In the first half the Eagles
jumped out to an early lead by scoring a touchdown on the first
drive. The Eagle defense held the Aves to zero yards of
offense and scoreless in the first half. In the second half,
the rain really began to fall, as the Eagle offense scored on their
initial possession. Not to be let out of the fun, the Eagle
Defense intercepted the ball and scored a touchdown. The Aves
showed they were not about to quit and scored a touchdown of their
own. The Milford Offense then answered back on the very next
play with the final score of the game. After the game, Coach
Lockwood awarded the game ball to Wes Reid for his hard running and
two touchdowns. Next up for the Eagles is Indian Hill at Home.
The Milford Eagles won their first home game of the season over
the Mason 1 Comets: 27 - 6. In an electric atmosphere, the
home team gave their fans an offensive show with nearly 300 yards of
total offense including 20 yard pass play. The Eagles jumped
to a first half lead on three big touchdown runs. The Eagle
Defense did excellent job in stopping a very big Mason team and only
gave up 1 score. In the second half the Eagles tacked on
another touchdown and the defense shut out the Comets. The
game ball was awarded to Jake Davis for excellent play including big
play touchdown runs and numerous tackles. Next up for the
Eagles is the Sycamore Aviators at Sharonville.
Despite a great team effort, the Milford Eagles lost their first
game against Lakota 2 : 19 - 12. A very good Lakota 2 team jumped to
a two touchdown first half lead. In the second half the Eagles
turned up the dial an outscored Lakota two touchdowns to one.
The Eagle offense demonstrated terrific ball control by driving the
length of the field and consuming the entire third quarter. The
offense also demonstrated the ability to make big plays as evidenced
by 65 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. The Eagle defense
had key three and out series after a loan Eagle turnover, which led
to an Eagle touchdown ensuing play The entire Eagle team
played with outstanding effort and fought hard to the very last
play. The Eagles finally get play at home when they host Mason 1,
Saturday Sept 16th at 3:00.
The Milford Eagles showed real heart and determination to fight
back and tie Loveland at the Tiger Bowl hosted by Loveland.
The Eagles fell behind in the first half after a long Loveland drive
that resulted in a Tiger Touchdown. Though Milford was able to move
the ball in the first half the Eagles were unable to convert it into
points. In the second half it was Milford's turn to put
together a long drive. Again, the Eagles were denied points, but the
Eagle defense stepped up and got the ball back with a three and out
series. With time getting short, the Eagle offense scored the tying
touchdown and conversion. Once more the Eagle defense stopped
Loveland with time expiring. Though the score was a tie,
Milford out gained Loveland 114 - 84 yards for the game. In
the second half, the Eagle defense gave up zero yards of net
offense.
The Milford Eagles earned a hard fought victory at Paul
Brown Stadium winning 22-14 over the Amelia Knighthawks. The
Eagle Offense continued to run in high gear and racked up
over 237 yards of offense. Our defense showed real
heart by stopping a determined and resilient Amelia team in
the final drive of the game. As always It was a great
showing by the whole team and a great effort by all the
players. Two game balls were awarded to Jacob Davis and Kyle
Minton for their outstanding offensive
effort. Next, up for the Eagles are the
Lakota 4
Tomahawks at Kings
High School.

The 2006 Milford Eagles picked up right where they left off
last year, by defeating the Delhi Eagles 24 to 0 in the Mt.
Healthy Death Valley Bowl. Milford showed off a very
explosive offense by racking up over 170 yards on the ground
in just 11 plays. In the first half the offense only had to
run two plays from scrimmage to gain 123 yards and 16
points. The Milford defense proved to be just as stingy as
ever and recorded the season's first shutout while also
holding Delhi to only 1 yard of total offense in the second
half. It was a great showing by the whole team and a great
effort by all the players. Dustin Monroe was singled out for
his great defensive line play and was awarded the game ball.
Next, up for the Eagles are the Amelia Knighthawks at Paul
Brown Stadium.
